(ANSA) - PALERMO, FEBRUARY 11 - A 73-year-old disabled woman died in a fire that broke out last night in the apartment where she lived alone, in a two-story building in via Maltesea, Palermo.
The flames were put out by firefighters.
According to an initial reconstruction, the fire would have resulted from a short circuit in an electrical socket.
The alarm at the fire brigade switchboard went off just before 4 am. Immediate help was given to put out the fire, but it was not possible to save the woman.
118 personnel also intervened on the
spot. The carabinieri are investigating (ANSA).
