Furor for 'Las 24 horas de la Corvina Negra', the fishing contest that distributes more than 50 million pesos in prizes

2023-02-11T21:21:40.093Z

It is carried out on the coasts of Claromecó, Orense and Reta. There are more than 4,000 registered rods. And the beaches look like a city on the tongue of the sea.

It is a real challenge to patience.

In the southeast of the Buenos Aires coast, a sport fishing marathon began this Saturday.

On the beaches of Claromecó, Reta and Orense (the spas of the Tres Arroyos district) another edition of “Las 24 horas de la Corvina Negra” started.

It is the largest open water contest in South America.

Some numbers that support this sentence: it covers 40 kilometers of jurisdiction over the language of the sea;

More than 4,000 participants who come from all over the country (and also from abroad) registered and distributes more than 50 million pesos in prizes.

Several of the best located in this outdoor contest will be able to return home with

a zero kilometer 4x4 truck.

The grand prize for whoever obtains the heaviest black croaker specimen is a vehicle of these characteristics.

But in addition, the organizers planned to deliver another two pickups from a Japanese brand and three medium-sized cars as alternative prizes.

One of the "flats" will go to whoever gets the largest piece (even if it is not sea bass) and another will go in a raffle among those registered.

The cars are also part of the laurels that the competitors will take.

Up to number 40 on the grid there are benefits that include household appliances, camping and recreation items.

From 3:00 p.m. this Saturday until the same time on Sunday, the illusion takes the form of rod and hook.

"The 24 hours" (as the Tresarroyenses call this event) represent a milestone of each summer.

At 3:00 p.m. this Sunday, the competition closes, the registration cost of which is 30,000 pesos.

An event steeped in tradition and with the folklore that surrounds the world of fishermen.

Participation in the tournament requires, in addition to the formal payment of 30,000 pesos for registration, logistics almost for specialists.

You have to take the equipment, a vehicle and the supplies to spend a day on the shores of the Atlantic.

It is not for any impromptu.

The maritime event is organized by the Club Cazadores de Tres Arroyos.

The first edition was held in 1962

and had only 58 intrepid ones who challenged the resistance and it grew in volume until it reached the record number of participants in 1987, with 6862 registered rods.

The more than 4,000 fishermen will be able to make their first launch at 3:00 p.m., and from there 24 hours in search of the winning bite for the lucky one who captures the heaviest black croaker and earns him a Toyota Hilux 0 kilometer 4 x 4.

The weather became an ally of the fishermen this time.

The day reached maximum temperatures of up to 30 degrees and at the time of the "long" contest the sea was calm and stormy but it did not complicate the start of the contest.

The tide minutes from low tide is, according to experts, a good time for pikes.

Fishermen come from all over the country and abroad.

It is one of the largest contests in South America.

“Like every year, we have great expectations and we see people coming from all over the country.

It is a response to a serious proposal in which we always respect the fisherman”, said the leader of the Hunters Club, Horacio Pesalaccia.

At 15 o'clock a siren ordered the start order.

Several tons of plumb line fell on the waves and behind the surf of a calm sea.

With the tanza it was the illusion of the competitors.

The wait will be long: a full day of pure fishing.

But since early Saturday morning there was already movement due to the arrival of the first contingents.

The connoisseurs look for the places where there are supposed to be the best chances of fishing.

Or at least to have comforts to endure the extension of the contest.

At night, the landscape of the extensive beaches of Orense, Claromecó and Reta is turned upside down.

The hundreds of camps, huts and tents resemble a city facing the ocean.

The logistics for this event demand more than 200 people who act as controls, assistants and collaborators.

They travel in all-terrain vehicles the 40 kilometers of track on the sand to register the fishing pieces or to attend to any inconvenience.
