A little earlier during a press conference, the unions, which confirmed their call for a fifth act on February 16, said they were ready "to
harden the movement
" and to "bring the country to a halt on February 7 March” if the government and Parliament “
remain deaf
” to the mobilizations.

Large cities that mobilize

For this first mobilization on a Saturday, the morning parades sometimes brought together more people than the third act, on February 7.

(against 7,500),
6,000 in Nancy
(against 6,500),
5,500 in Angoulême
(against 4,800),
2,000 in Mende
(against 500), according to the authorities.
Orléans
also had a historic day with

people in the streets.
In the big cities,
Nice
, which had rather filled up with demonstrators until now, mobilized less.
With the start of the Nice Carnival but also the holidays in zone B, the people of Nice were only 5,600 (against 6,800) in the streets.
Same observation in
Clermont-Ferrand
, where the unions claimed 50,000 participants (against 20,000 on February 7) and 8,000 the prefecture (against 9,200), in
Saint-Etienne
(5,300 against 6,200).
