Cancel the 41 bis to Alfredo Cospito
, the anarchist who is on hunger strike to protest against this measure.
This is the request that the general prosecutor of the Cassation has presented in view of the hearing of the Supreme Court on February 24, according to what is reported in two articles in La Stampa and La Repubblica.
On February 24, the Court of Cassation will have to rule on the appeal
,
presented by the anarchist's defence, against the decision of the surveillance court of Rome to confirm him the hard prison regime.
La Stampa writes that the general prosecutor would consider the 41 bis to Cospito superseded by events and that the request to revoke it is contained in the text of the indictment filed last Tuesday.
In the meantime, the anarchist's condition worries the doctors: he weighs 71 kilos and is at risk of cerebral edema and potentially fatal cardiac arrhythmias, the party doctor reported to the lawyer Flavio Rossi Albertini.
Cospito, 55 - who has been on a hunger strike for 115 days in protest and now also refuses supplements - was transferred yesterday afternoon from the clinical center of the Opera prison to the penitentiary medicine department of the San Paolo hospital in Milan.
Meanwhile, the eleven anarchists who yesterday were taken to the police headquarters after the afternoon clashes during the march in Milan in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito have all been charged with various crimes relating to public order.
During the clashes, six policemen were injured.
