Elisa Longo Borghini won the women's Tour of the United Arab Emirates at the end of the last stage (119 km completely flat with arrival in Abu Dhabi) in which the Dutch Charlotte Kool took the sprint.
Longo Borghini, the 31-year-old from Piedmont who has won two Olympic bronze medals in his career (Rio and Tokyo) and two world championships, one Paris-Roubaix and one tour of Flanders, built on his success in the Emirates by winning yesterday's stage with an uphill finish in Jebel Hafeet.
In the final general classification, she climbed to the top step of an all-Italian podium, given that behind her were her Trek-Segafredo teammate Gaia Realini, 7" behind. In third place was Silvia Persico ( (UAE Team) with a delay of 1'18".
