After the suspension of school hours in all governorates during the past week as a result of the repercussions of the earthquake that hit Syria last Monday, work has resumed today for all kindergartens and vocational, public and Sharia schools in all governorates except for the stricken affected areas in the governorates (Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama and Idlib), where it is left to education directors Coordinating with the governors to assess the situation in their governorates and work gradually to restore work in them according to the current situation.
The Director of Education at the Ministry of Education, Imad Hazeem, explained in a statement to SANA that students and students have returned to school today after the temporary hiatus that occurred as a result of the repercussions of the earthquake, after ensuring the safety of school buildings, indicating that in the affected areas, attendance is still suspended, and it will gradually return to it after Evaluating the situation in each region and according to developments, as education directors, along with school principals and readiness committees, will study the reality of their schools, explaining that educational losses for students in those regions will be compensated at a later time.
Hazeem pointed to the possibility of compensating the educational loss for the affected students in the affected governorates, in which it may be difficult for them to return to their schools there through the possible means available to the Ministry, such as: (free educational courses held by the Ministry of Education and popular organizations - strengthening courses for degree students - intensive courses for transitional stages - educational platforms - The educational satellite channel) in order to catch up on the lessons they missed, stressing that the ministry will mobilize all its capabilities in order to compensate for this loss.
Hazeem indicated that there are partially damaged schools, and work will be done in coordination with the ministries and concerned authorities to return them to service as soon as possible.
