In a dramatic gesture of protest against the rabbinical establishment, a young woman took off her clothes today in the esplanade in front of the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, and stood in a two-piece bathing suit a short distance from a group of fearful Jews immersed in prayer.
The woman, writes Haaretz, was soon joined by agents who ordered her to get dressed again and was then taken to a police station for questioning.
His protest comes a few days after the presentation by the orthodox Shas party of a draft law which provides for up to six months in prison and fines of up to 10,000 shekels (about 2,700 euros) for those who, in front of the Wailing Wall, he presents himself with "immodest clothes", or plays musical instruments, or even organizes religious rites that do not comply with Jewish orthodoxy.
