On July 2 of that year, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright came together for the first time in twenty-four years on the same London stage, as part of the charity festival organized by Bob Geldof, Live 8. Twenty years after his shattering departure, Roger Waters, founding member of the band, had punctually buried the hatchet with guitarist David Gilmour, who had taken over the leadership of the band in his absence.
A few days ago, the two men reappeared in open conflict on social networks, after the scandalous remarks of Waters, pro-Russian support in the Ukrainian conflict.
David Gilmour, who reactivated Pink Floyd last year while recording a single in support of the Ukrainian community, saw red.
