Here come the generals, look how brilliant they are.
Ranks on the shoulder, battle heritage and a sense of humor of a battle ration.
"Mittal Defense Patrol", the docu-series by Omri Essenheim and Gilad Tokatli wants to unravel the secret of the most respected unit in the IDF, but mainly succeeds in penetrating the soul of the warrior.
This is a four-part series about unit pride, but also about men with the rough character of generals.
"You enter the tent, there is a sock in the tent. You pick up the sock, smell it, 'maybe, it's yours.'
Naftali Bennett reveals the song he hummed when he was beaten to death in the "captivity series" of the trainees, Ehud Barak coldly describes the death of Yoni Netanyahu, and Binyamin Netanyahu half-heartedly admits feelings of guilt for causing his brother to be drafted into the unit.
Generals don't cry.

While Osenheim pushes dozens of his interviewees to the brink of tears, everyone still keeps their emotions locked up and highlights the boundaries of the sector - generals don't cry on TV.
Dozens of interviewees, all senior state officials, are in the documentary.
They are all militant killers who are ashamed to talk about failures, proud of successes and suppress emotions.
It's fascinating because between the action and the drama, the creators examine what made the cruiser the most successful habitat for leaders - the one where three prime ministers, chiefs of staff, heads of the Mossad and Shin Bet, ministers, members of the Knesset, CEOs and more have grown.

"Mittal General Patrol" restores a battle heritage from decades ago and races for the glory of the past. But generals, even nowadays, continue to function as superheroes who think they can do anything. Then they go to politics and crash.
