British band Genesis have been making music history since they formed in 1967.
Just a few months ago, the musicians around singer Phil Collins announced that they would sell part of their music rights to the US company Concord for $300 million.
Thanks to this deal, Genesis now tops the list of the highest paid entertainers according to a show business ranking by Forbes magazine.
The business magazine listed the ten musicians, filmmakers and celebrities who earned the most money in 2022.
Genesis comes in at $230 million thanks to business ($300 million before royalties), touring and record sales.
Sting came in second.
The former The Police singer took $210 million, while Tyler Perry, who works as an actor ("Don't Look Up"), director and entrepreneur, comes to $175 million.
Overall, the top ten earners earned over $1.3 billion last year.
Taylor Swift the only woman in the top ten
The producers of the US cult series "South Park" and "The Simpsons" are ahead of Brad Pitt, who had sold a large part of his production company Plan B.
The Rolling Stones are also performed.
The band, featuring Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, toured Europe last year and earned nearly $100 million.
Taylor Swift is the only woman to make the top ten.
The 33-year-old, who was showered with prizes in 2022, comes to $ 92 million, according to Forbes her total assets are around $ 570 million.
