After declaring a state of preventive health alert, they confirm the detection of avian flu cases in Argentina for the first time.
The discovery of cases of avian influenza occurred in the province of Jujuy.
This Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and the Secretary of Agriculture will give a press conference to inform prevention measures to prevent the spread.
Since the beginning of this year, "recurring outbreaks" have been detected in the United States and Canada, and its spread has recently advanced to South America with cases in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.
In this sense, since the outbreak began in mid-November, the death of more than 22,000 marine and coastal birds -mostly pelicans- in Peru has been recorded.
The disease can cause, if it enters the country, "a high impact on the production and trade" of industrial poultry production with "serious economic losses" due to the high mortality in birds, and the consequent restrictions on international trade.
