As often the only woman in very male-dominated motorsport, Laura-Marie Geissler is certainly used to a lot.
In view of sexist formulations in a TV review by the magazine "Stern", the racing car driver was "stunned", as she writes on Instagram.
"I drive car races against sexism," it says in her contribution.
She wanted to put an end to sexist behavior, and not just on a male-dominated race track.
What happened?
In a TV review by the »Stern« about »Die Ochsenknechts«, a reality TV show about the German actor family of the same name, it was also about Geissler – she is in a relationship with Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht.
Under a picture showing Geissler and Ochsenknecht next to a racing car, it read: »Where do Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht's eyes end up?
The choice is large: Breasts, Porsche or the eyes of his new girlfriend«.
The text said: »Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht definitely heats up in the racing stables next to his bra-less girlfriend.«
Geissler writes that she wants to be judged on her ability and not degraded to an object.
"This article is not a criticism of my partner Jimi's show, but a misogynistic act against me as a woman in motorsport." The text is "contemptuous, hurtful and deeply condescending."
The "star" apologizes at least via Instagram to the motor sportswoman.
"Both passages were not appropriate," the magazine replies to the posting.
The corresponding sentences have disappeared from the review, and there is no correction note.
