The first photo of Lady Gaga frightened opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker sequel

Harley Quinn, camped by Lady Gaga, seems both frightened and fascinated by a serene Joker (Joaquin Phoenix), whose bloody face she holds in her hands.

Such is the strange atmosphere released by the duo's first set photo, unveiled by director Todd Phillips on February 15 on his Instagram account.

The latter accompanied the cliché of the disturbing couple by writing “Happy Valentine’s Day” in the caption.

The director had published a very first image of Joaquin Phoenix, in December: he appeared there being shaved, rickety and the body covered with small wounds.

This new part entitled

(in French for the whole world) follows the

of 2019 from the same director.

“Madness for two”: the expression designates a shared psychosis, for two.

The affected duo then shares the same delusions, the same hallucinations.

Rare psychiatric syndrome, it occurs between two close people, within the same family for example.

This psychiatric disorder is one of the only clues that we have, to date, about the plot of this new opus scheduled for October 4, 2024.

We also know that the film should explore the relationship between Harley Quinn, a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum (recently played by Margot Robbie in

and the

franchise ), and her patient Arthur Fleck (the Joker), whose she ends up falling in love and becomes the accomplice.

Musical comedy

Another important novelty for this new component: it will be a musical.

Thus, the choice of Lady Gaga to embody the character of Harley Quinn in this new psychological thriller in music is hardly surprising.

Especially since it was Todd Phillips who produced

in 2018, in which the singer shared the headliner with Bradley Cooper.
