President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will appear on video at the Berlin Film Festival.
“It is a special honor for us to be able to digitally welcome Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the opening of our festival on Thursday evening,” say Berlinale directors Mariëtte Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian.
Following a stage introduction by director and actor Sean Penn leading up to his dedicated Superpower festival, there will be a live video stream with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"The Berlinale with all its filmmakers and participants expresses solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the struggle for independence and strongly condemns Russian aggression," said directors of the festival, Mariëtte Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian.
According to Deadline, it is not excluded that the wife of the Ukrainian president, Olena Zelenska, will participate in the premiere of Superpower.
