Acea: Barbara Marinali appointed chairman

Acea's board of directors has appointed Barbara Marinali as the new non-executive director and conferred on her the office of chairman of the board of directors. This was announced in a note from Acea. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 17 - Acea's board of directors has appointed Barbara Marinali as the new non-executive director and has given her the position of chairman of the board of directors.

This was announced in a note from Acea.


   Marinali, who has accepted the appointment, will remain in office until the next shareholders' meeting.


   On 15 February last, the mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, as majority shareholder of Acea spa, had written to the CEO Fabrizio Palermo asking him to convene an extraordinary board of directors to proceed with the cooptation of Barbara Marinali within the board of directors and her simultaneous appointment as chairman of the company replacing Micaela Castelli who had resigned the day before.

"Barbara Marinali - reads today's note from Acea - has gained significant experience in the public and private sector. She has held important positions acquiring in-depth knowledge of the administrative structure and the institutional fabric of the State. She currently holds relevant positions within the bodies of listed companies"

    Marinali from Rome, born in 1964, a degree with honors in Economics and Commerce, is president of Open Fiber and is part of the Webuild board of directors.

Previously, among other things, you held the role of senior advisor to the CEO of Snam, and served on the Council of the transport regulation authority;

you were general director for road infrastructures of the Ministry of infrastructures and transports and director of the CIPE secretariat.
