There are fears of a 24-hour strike on Friday for metro buses and trains

From north to south, buses, metro, trams and local trains will stop from 8.30 to 17.00 and from 20.00 until the end of the service

The service will be guaranteed only in the bands that include peak hours.

The Unione Sindacale di Base, Lavoro Privato proclaimed the protest, which will be followed by a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Transport on 3 March, under the slogan: "We demand wages, safety and dignity from the road and tram drivers".

As for the big cities, in Rome the strike will involve Atac, Cotral, Astral and Rome Tpl with vehicles stopped from 8.30 to 17 and from 20 at the end of service.

In Milan, buses, metro and trams at risk from 8.45 to 15.00 and from 18.00 to the end of the service

In Naples, the 24-hour strike by ANM staff, from midnight on Friday 17 to midnight on Saturday 18, will affect the metro, buses and funiculars.

These are "mobilizations that want to reclaim the centrality of public transport and the role of workers in the sector, the main victims of savage privatizations, of the continuous recourse to contracts, subcontracts and subcontracting that fuel exploitation and precariousness", underlines the union, which attacks

The USB calls, among other things, for the

"contractual equalization" between public and private companies, a "new parametric scale"

that guarantees salary increases and "annihilates the economic penalties" for new hires, "the reduction" of working hours work "35 hours a week for the same salary", the launch of a National Transport Plan and "greater protection" on safety and health in the workplace.
