Pensions: "Jean-Luc Mélenchon does not promote clarity of the debate", considers Philippe Martinez

On BFMTV this Sunday, the trade unionist severely criticized the strategy of the Nupes deputies and the role played by the leader of LFI.

The deputies expected it: Friday evening, the examination of the pension reform project ended, without the deputies having been able to vote on the text, or even examine article 7 on the postponement of the legal age to 64 years.

An outcome that Philippe Martinez bitterly regrets.

Guest of BFM Politique this Sunday, the secretary general of the CGT began by pointing out the responsibility of the government, “which chose an accelerated procedure”.

But in doing so, he did not spare the parliamentarians: "

the Assembly must be at the service of the social movement, but because of the various parliamentary incidents, these incidents have been mentioned more than what is happening in the street

".

Philippe Martinez did not hide his resentment towards the deputies of the Nupes, who tabled hundreds of amendments with a view to slowing down the debates: "

We see that the political forces are trying to replace the trade union organizations which parade in the street is a problem

”.

The Secretary General would indeed have liked Article 7 to be debated in the hemicycle, so as to “

bring each deputy face to face with his responsibilities

”.

Asked about the role of the leader of La France Insoumise, the head of the CGT did not mince his words: "

He does not promote the clarity of the debates, of the positions, and that disturbs the employees I meet

", while trusting that it's been a very long time since he

".

The pension reform will therefore not have calmed the sometimes tumultuous relationship between the trade unionist and the politician.

It remains to be seen whether, despite their disagreements, they will succeed in bending the government.

This is what Philippe Martinez hopes for by calling for the “country to stop” on Tuesday March 7.
