A man from the United States has won the lottery twice in just two months.

As reported by US media, the 56-year-old from Baltimore is said to have bought a scratch card for just a few dollars in January and thus won 30,000 US dollars.

A few weeks later he tried his luck again – and bought another scratch card for five dollars.

With unexpected success: this time he pocketed the main prize of $50,000.

In addition to these two larger sums in the Crazy 8s lottery, the player is said to have won other small sums of $20 and $5.

"That can't be right," he thought at first, the winner said, according to CNN.

"I called my girlfriend to check." She confirmed that he had won twice.

Good intuition?

According to the lottery company, the Amazon employee does not yet know what he will do with the money.

Maybe he will go on vacation with his girlfriend on the occasion of her 60th birthday.

A new car could also be an option.

The Crazy 8s lottery awards hundreds of thousands of prizes -- but most range between $5 and $1,000.

The liquor store where the lucky guy bought his tickets also benefits from the winnings: Mitt's Rosedale Liquors in Rosewood near Baltimore gets a bonus of 500 US dollars from the Maryland Lottery.

Multiple wins in lotteries are rare.

In December, a man from the US state of Massachusetts won the lottery six times - thanks to his good intuition, he said.
