It was a cult drink, especially for children in the 90s.

Now its production has finally been stopped.

We say goodbye to “Punica Oasis”.

Hamm - The fruit juice became known as the Punica oasis, especially among children in the 90s.

What today is beer, whose prices are rising, or red wine, back then the "fruity thirst quencher" was the go-to drink at children's birthday parties.

Now there is sad certainty: The production of Punica has finally been stopped, reports wa.de.

Goodbye Punica Oasis: Discontinued production of the "Fruity Thirst Quencher".

"My mom even bought Punica for us" - the sentence ran over his lips after the end of school, the invitation to meet up sweetened the free afternoon even more.

Every child of the 90s and partly also the 2000s knows the colorful soft drink in all varieties.

Punica became particularly well-known through the TV advertising, which ran every half hour between numerous anime series in the afternoon.

The well-known "Punica Oasis" became "Let yourself be refreshed".

Now there is no more slogan.

As the company PepsiCo, which recently got into a supply dispute with Edeka, officially confirmed, the Punica fruit juice will no longer be produced.

"In February 2022, we sold the PepsiCo juice division, including the Punica brand, to the joint venture company Tropicana Brands Group (TBG)," it said in a statement.

The decision to leave Punica was apparently made in September 2022

The Tropicana Brands Group decided last September to stop selling Punica.

"We understand your disappointment that Punica will no longer be available in the future and would like to thank you and our Punica fans for the years of product loyalty," it continues.

The first Punica bottle made it onto the market in 1977.

The former Dittmeyer GmbH was taken over by Procter & Gamble in 1984.

This was followed by sales to the American investor JW Childs in 2005 and a year later to PepsiCo.

There, Punica was incorporated into the Tropicana Brands Group juice division.

However, Punica has been missing from the shelves of supermarkets and discounters for a long time.

Now the final end followed.
