To the red carpet of the British Academy Awards ceremony, the BAFTA, for 2023, which was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, last night (Sunday) gathered all the top celebrities from the United Kingdom and abroad.

But one royal couple stole the show.

A perfect and sophisticated match, the Princess of Wales and her Prince Charming matched performances in black and white with touches of velvet.

And not as usual, the couple were seen glowing, light and smiling more than ever and even showed affection on the red carpet, when they held hands, giggled, and if you don't blink, a short video shows Kate playfully patting the prince's butt.

It's wonderful to discover that the royals are just like us (almost).

(41) continued the great trend, which she adhered to, of recycling pieces from her personal wardrobe and even took it one step forward (or back) when she went for upcycling, that is: reusing a garment that is being upgraded.

The Princess of Wales wore a spectacular one-shoulder dress in a personal design by the fashion house Alexander McQueen, which is actually an epicycle of the white dress she wore to the same ceremony in 2019, only this time a sash with a tiered floor-length trail was added to the one shoulder.

But she didn't stop there, the princess also paired elegant black velvet opera gloves by Cornelia James, which matched William's blazer.

To close her beautiful performance, Kate clutched a black velvet clutch bag by Jimmy Choo, stepped on golden stilettos by Acquazora (the two have already starred for her in the past), and as always she accessorized the look with a super accessible and cheap item - this time it was drop earrings with Zara floral motifs.

Like her yin and yang, Prince William (40) was very complimentary of Kate's appearance.

He wore a classic tuxedo but with a twist, thanks to a double-breasted velvet blazer by Tom Ford.

William looked more elegant and up-to-date than ever (the complete opposite of what we are used to getting from him in public appearances), and the cool blazer was paired with classic tailored trousers and a formal white button-down shirt with a bow tie.

Prince William has been the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, and the couple have previously attended the ceremony, although this is their first time on the red carpet as the Prince and Princess of Wales, and there is no doubt that they came with the goal of shining far and wide, and also having fun.
