The ASviS live “Constitution, environment and future generations: a year later, where are we?” will be held on Wednesday 22 February at 10 am at the Casanatense Library in Rome.

Organized by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development to celebrate the first anniversary of the achievement of one of its most important results, namely the inclusion in the Constitution of the principle of "intergenerational justice" at the basis of the concept of sustainable development, the event aims to be the opportunity to reflect with representatives of the institutions and civil society on the consequences of the constitutional reform approved almost unanimously in February 2022.

In fact, for the first time in the history of republican Italy, two fundamental principles of the Charter were modified, namely articles 9 and 41, through which the obligation of the Republic to protect the environment, biodiversity and ecosystems, with a view to justice also towards future generations.

A reform of this magnitude, which accelerates the pace towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations, cannot fail to bring about important changes in the policies and behavior of economic, social and institutional operators.

Among others, the president emeritus of the Constitutional Court, Giuliano Amato, will animate the reflection.
