Inflation has weighed on the tables of the Carnival with the latest data for January 2023 which see increases of 21% in the prices of flour and eggs compared to the same period last year, but butter rises by 35% and sugar even by 54% .
With prices ranging between 20 and 40 euros per kilo for purchases from bakeries or pastry shops, there is no shortage of those who have dedicated themselves to home-made preparations to save money but also for the pleasure of expressing their creativity in making desserts.
After all, do-it-yourself, Coldiretti highlights, also offers the possibility of ensuring the quality and freshness of the ingredients, which make the difference on the final result, starting with eggs and honey.
Finally, the fact that a 50 gram portion of frappe contains 235 kilocalories means that moderate consumption has not had dramatic effects on diet and health, also because deprivation in a moment of celebration, especially for the little ones, can have negative effects on mood.
