A Rewe employee unpacks: she talks about her earnings, about supermarket music, about a weird everyday question - and reveals why she herself prefers Aldi and Lidl.
Stuttgart - A popular format on the Reddit platform is called "AMA": It stands for "Ask me anything", and there people with an interesting job or a remarkable fate answer the users' questions.
Rewe: Deputy branch manager from Baden-Württemberg unpacks
Now an alleged Rewe employee speaks up: She is 25 years old and deputy branch manager.
When asked by tz.de, she reveals that the market is in Baden-Württemberg and shows a document to prove that she really works at Rewe.
Of course, something like this is not forgery-proof either - but it can be assumed with a very high degree of probability that her information is correct and that she really works at Rewe.
The questions she is bombarded with go in very different directions.
“Why this annoying music?
Which target group is this supposed to attract?” one wants to know.
The answer: "I have no idea, but it's even worse before the shop opens." Because, as she explains, the music comes from the "Rewe Radio", which is based in Cologne and is probably dedicated to the wishes of the employees early in the morning, like tz. de reported.
She specifies: "Rewe employees can wish for anything, and they really play everything.
I don't find techno at 6 that cool, and then funny children's songs.
'My favorite animal is the bratwurst' is also a classic.”

There are customer complaints about incorrect prices after shopping “a few times a day,” she explains, “half of which are customer errors.
If the customer is right, it's because the price tag is broken or because an item was wrongly listed.”
Rewe: Deputy branch manager talks about earnings and her tasks
The Rewe employee also explains that she introduced "Too good to go".
And what their tasks are: “Creating the range, processing offer order quantities, product presentations, keeping an eye on transcripts and making deployment plans.
However, due to a lack of staff, I often have to fill up and collect.”
The Rewe employee also answers a weird everyday question.
“Why is there always only parsley when I want to buy coriander and only coriander when I want to buy parsley?” someone wants to know.
The answer: "Since I'm ordering the fruit, I'd like to ask a counter question: why don't you ever buy cilantro, and if there isn't one you want it?"
If someone asks me about it, I'm happy to order it, I just have to know it two days in advance."
Rewe: Deputy branch manager from Baden-Württemberg prefers Aldi and Lidl - because she lives vegan
She herself gets a "5 percent employee discount and 5 percent inflation discount," says the Rewe employee.
Of course, this information is not confirmed and should therefore be treated with caution.
The user also comments on whether she buys from her employer Rewe.
“Buy a few things there for convenience, but prefer Aldi and Lidl because of the prices.” When pointed out that private labels are not very different from discounter products in terms of price, she says: “I live vegan and at Aldi/Lidl I find better products for me.
Rewe has a great selection of vegan products, but they are rather expensive.” At the moment, the prices for cucumbers are causing trouble for many consumers - in different markets.
