(ANSA) - MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 21 - Russia "suspends" the application of START, the latest treaty on nuclear arms reduction still in force with the US, because it cannot allow American inspectors to visit Russian nuclear sites while Washington is intent on inflict "a strategic defeat" on Moscow.
This was stated by President Vladimir Putin in his State of the Nation address.
"We are suspending the treaty, but we are not withdrawing from it," Putin stressed.
