The new creative director of the fashion house revealed an updated design language, surprising the viewers • With many ducks and without the iconic check pattern, will the change prove to be a success or a failure?

London Fashion Week is considered one of the highlights of the fashion world, and brings many innovations alongside diverse displays with different messages.

One of the most talked about shows is the show of the British fashion house Burberry, which for the first time presented with the designer Daniel Lee, who presented a new design language for the brand.

Ducks everywhere.

Last October the veteran fashion house announced Lee as the new creative director in place of Riccardo Tisci.

Lee was responsible for the historic turnaround at Bottega Veneta, and his appointment has led to expectations for the renewal of the brand.

At the beginning of the month we got a glimpse of the design language that leads me, with an update of the brand logo.

Alongside it we also got the motif of the knight on the talking horse that accompanied the brand from 1901 to 2018. On the runway he presented a collection with surprising colors and unexpected combinations.

Referring to the motif of the knight, the collection used feathers as in his hat, and synthetic furs accompanied Lee's new versions of plaids, which were diagonally shaped to look like diamonds, with the addition of bold colors such as yellow, pink, purple and red.

The brand that was characterized by square squares in shades of beige and brown with red touches, changed its face to a lively and kicking fashion.

I found the inspiration for the combinations in the company's fabric archives book from a century ago.

Of course, the change cannot be made only in the materials, and Lee chose to add another motif to the collection, in the form of a duck.

"It's very British to me. The duck makes me think of the park, and Burberry is an outdoor brand that mainly communicates protection from the rain," he explained.

He also introduced changes in the design of the iconic bags and shoes, and besides the addition of furry accessories, he also added a hot bottle wrapped in checkered mesh, which is going to conquer the influencers.

We are waiting to see if the customers will connect with the changes, and agree to easily give up the eternal status symbol of the brand - beige and brown squares, in favor of a more colorful future.
