The Ukrainian government fears that the Russian attacks could get particularly bad in the coming days. A special recommendation therefore applies to schools.

In the coming days, all pupils in Ukraine are to learn in distance classes.

There is an increased risk of Russian bombing, the government in Kiev said on Tuesday.

Specifically, it is about the period from February 22nd to 24th.

Exactly one year ago, on February 24, Russia began its war of aggression against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian government fears that on the anniversary of the invasion, Putin could launch a particularly large number of harsh attacks.

The Ministry of Education said it recommended schools "to protect the life and health of all school stakeholders as a preventive measure before the anniversary."

Hundreds of schools have been destroyed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion.

Many other schools were forced to use hybrid teaching, a combination of face-to-face and distance teaching, partly because of the risk of air raids or power outages because the Russian military had destroyed Ukrainian infrastructure.

Ukrainian schools were only allowed to hold face-to-face classes this school year if the building had an air raid shelter.

Ukrainian students who fled the war abroad often learn in dual structures.

For example, the children and young people attend German schools in the mornings, and in the afternoons they study online in line with the Ukrainian school system.

According to observations by British secret services, damage to schools and hospitals has recently increased during the Ukraine war.

In January, more and more medical and educational institutions were hit, according to the daily short report from the British Ministry of Defense on Tuesday.

This is likely largely to do with Russia's indiscriminate use of artillery and other weapons systems.

Again and again, civilians were killed.
