Hotels have received a lot of criticism in the past for their low level of cleanliness, but have you ever thought about how dirty hotel showers and bathtubs really are?
In social networks they thought and how.
Tiktok surfers have been in a frenzy lately after discovering how disgusting the hotel showers are and the shocking statistics.
A recently published study showed that 81 percent of hotel surfaces have contaminated dirt on them.
Many vacationers refuse to shower in hotels, with some of them taking pictures of themselves cleaning the toilets and the bathtub before use.
One Tiktok user broke the web when she uploaded a video of herself scrubbing the toilet before even daring to "approach them".

There are quite a few studies that claim that the cleanliness in hotels is not really that bad, even if they look terrible.
But microbiologist Philip Tierno said that even if the shower looks clean, there is still a layer of bacteria on it, he described it as "uncleanable because it sticks to showers and other surfaces".
Erika Hartman, an associate professor at Northwestern University added: "When you first arrive in a hotel room, there are microbes from the previous guest that are found there - for sure."
