A great tourism project has been completed, where a new boardwalk was established, from which a view of the deserts of Mariv emerged over the vastness of the Negev.
The "Ben Gurion Promenade" in Sde Boker will provide travelers and residents of Midrash Ben Gurion and others with a three and a half kilometer walking/biking route, which will also include an accessible route for the disabled.
The route that leaves from the tomb of Pula and David Ben Gurion, which is near the Ben Gurion Synagogue, takes the travelers in an easterly direction and passes along beautiful views of Nahal Tzin, the Tzin Cliff and Ramat Abdat.
As part of the development of the boardwalk financed by the Israel Lands Authority, through the Fund for the Preservation of Open Areas with an aggregate amount of approximately two million shekels, five rest and observation corners were also arranged, with various elements and informational content for travelers to individuals, groups and families.

In phase I of the project, the development of the first section of a boardwalk of approximately 1,200 meters in length was carried out in the southern part of the Nahal Tzin cliff, after which the development of the second section of the boardwalk of 2,100 meters in length was completed and the construction of a suspension bridge, creating connectivity to the "Ben Gurion Trail" and connecting Ben Gurion to the tomb square.
At the same time, earthworks and sealing of the bottom of the "vadion" were carried out to remove rainwater from the cliff, regulate slopes and slow down the subsidence of streams, erosion and collapse of the river cliff.
In addition to this, the establishment of the boardwalk makes it possible to direct the travelers to an orderly path, thereby reducing the disturbance to the wild animals that live in the cliff area, such as the well-known goats that roam freely in the entrance of the tomb.
