Two and a half years after the disappearance of a young hiker in the Black Forest, the death investigation has been discontinued.
The background to the disappearance of Scarlett S. is still unclear, said the Waldshut-Tiengen public prosecutor.
However, the extensive investigations by the public prosecutor's office did not reveal any evidence of a violent crime.
The authorities evaluated more than 500 tips;
they could not find out anything about the whereabouts of the young woman.
Possibly had an accident on steep terrain
The then 26-year-old Scarlett S. from Bad Lippspringe in North Rhine-Westphalia has been missing since September 10, 2020.
She was on a stage of the Schluchtensteig in the southern Black Forest in a steep and impassable forest area and could have had an accident there.
The missing person was last captured by a surveillance camera in a grocery store in Todtmoos on the morning of September 10th.
Since then there has been no trace of her.
Even a broadcast of the ZDF television program "Aktenzeichen XY... Missing" couldn't help.
