The family decided to leave the Buenos Aires city in 2020, shortly before the pandemic. The twins told their grandfather that they wanted to return.

The jump from a balcony located on the third floor of two 12-year-old twin sisters, a tragedy that apparently had a bullying situation as a possible background, shocked both Catalonia, where it occurred, and Mar del Plata, the city where it is from comes from his family.

Alana died instantly and her sister Leila is hospitalized with serious injuries.

The news broke immediately,

the request of the girls' grandfather went viral

.

Gustavo Lima said that he did not have the resources to travel to Spain to meet his son, he opened an account and, in the middle,

received a call that put him on his way

.

The twins' grandfather leaves tonight for Spain.

"I'm on the road, unfortunately more slowly now because it started to rain, but I estimate that at eight I'll be arriving in Ezeiza," he told

Clarín

.

He said that they had called him from the Foreign Ministry, and that after processing an urgent passport at the airport they would place him on the first available flight.

About three years ago the family had left Argentina to move to Spain.

As Clarín learned, the mother of the sisters worked in a cafeteria.

In Mar del Plata they went to school No. 6, in the center of the city, until in 2020, shortly before the pandemic, they left for Spain with their parents.

The twins, apparently, were going through a bad time to the point of wanting to return to Mar del Plata.

That, according to the grandfather, was what they had told him the last time they spoke on the phone, a month and a half ago.
