(ANSA) - LONDON, FEBRUARY 23 - A group of pro-Ukrainian activists today spread 300 liters of yellow and blue paint on the road in front of the Russian embassy in London, later spreading them to form a mega flag of Kiev (to commemorate the first anniversary of the war on the calendar tomorrow) on a surface of 500 square meters of asphalt.

The demonstration ended with the arrest of four demonstrators - three men and one woman - briefly held by British police for blocking traffic.


    The protest against Moscow took place under the banner of the Led By Donkeys campaign, already active in the past with anti-Brexit initiatives.

"Ukraine is an independent state and its people have every right to self-determination", reads a statement released by the group through flyers and web messages: "This huge flag in front of (Vladimir) Putin's embassy will serve as a reminder".


    The paint also ended up coloring the tires of numerous vehicles that passed after the demonstration on the road that runs alongside the embassy and other diplomatic offices, between Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.
