Teaching parity in the Province: Kicillof offers up to 43.5% for 5 months and exceeds the national guideline

2023-02-23T16:56:35.302Z

It is also above the City agreement. The unions would accept and classes would begin without conflict in Buenos Aires.

Axel Kicillof

broke the salary guidelines suggested by Nación and offered teachers' unions an increase of

up to 43.5% in a "short" parity

.

This is an improvement in the salaries of more than 360,000 educators who will receive an 18% adjustment in March;

10% in May and 12% in July.

The benefit will be taken

from the amounts that will be received in February

and the proposal contemplates the reopening

of

the negotiation from August.

It means that it is a commitment that covers just

five months

and that it also establishes the possibility of a

"review"

in the event that inflation in the coming months exceeds those numbers.

According to the information disseminated by the Ministry of Finance of the Province, the average increase of all categories and modalities is 40%.

The offer from the Buenos Aires government was made at the first joint meeting and, as explained by the authorities, there was "a

favorable reception"

by the unions that make up the Teachers' Union Unity Front (FUGD).

There are the Federation of Educators (FEB), the SAdop (Private), Udocba, the Amet technicians and the Suteba

led by Roberto Baradel.

The entities will take the offer to "consideration of the bases", but everything indicates that it

would be approved.

In this way, next Wednesday, March 1,

the 2023 school year will begin without union conflict

at all levels of education.

Since Kicillof took office, the education unions have always agreed on parity with the government and

there were no protests

or measures of force at the start of the activity.

The increase that Buenos Aires would grant is

above that offered in the national parity

(33.5% until July) and the one agreed by the CABA (60% annually in five tranches).

It is also above the recommendation of the nation's Minister of Labor, Kelly Olmos, who wanted

30%

to be the reference for the salary increases that are currently negotiated in parities

for six months.

As reported this Thursday from the Union Front, with this official promise the salary of the grade teacher who has just entered the system and has a simple shift (four hours of classes) will go from 115,000 pesos in February to 140,000 in March,

150,000

in May and

165 thousand in July (three tranches).

The educator who works full time (eight hours in front of students) will be

280 thousand pesos in March

, 300 thousand in May and 330 thousand in July.

"On

Wednesday, March 1,

we will begin the educational and school activities of 190 days and we will leave behind that anguish that was always present in the Province at the beginning of each school year," said the General Director of Provincial Schools, Alberto Sileoni, this morning.
