An unexpected edition of the appointment born from an idea of ​​Aldo Capitini and specifically organized "against all the wars that continue in Ukraine and in too many other parts of the world".

And on the first anniversary of the Russian invasion.


    Among the walkers also some friars of the Sacred Convent of Assisi.

With them historical pacifists, such as the organizer of the march Flavio Lotti, many young people and the gonfalon of the Umbria Region.


    The journey to Assisi had begun about thirty minutes after midnight from the historical meeting point of the March, the gardens of the Frontone in Perugia.

To open the procession, less crowded than the editions that take place during the day but still significant, a banner with the words "let's stop the wars".


    Among the participants the traditional flags characterized by the iris, the color of peace, and the words "no war".

Several who repeatedly chanted the chorus "peace, peace".


    Many with backpacks on their shoulders, another of the symbols of PerugiaAssisi, but this time with jackets and hats to defend themselves from the cold and not from the sun as in the classic summer editions.


    Once in Assisi the participants stopped in the square waving a large cloth with the colors of the pacifist flag.

"We are here on this tragic anniversary to take on an extra responsibility" said tired but happy Flavio Lotti.

    The marchers then descended to the tomb of St. Francis for what the organizers described as a moment of "recollection, prayer (for believers) and reflection".
