She was among the women who had made serious allegations against Marilyn Manson: Ashley Morgan Smithline has withdrawn her allegations against the singer.
This is reported by numerous US media, including the celebrity portal “People” and the online magazine “Billboard”, citing an affidavit.
At the same time, the model raises serious allegations against Evan Rachel Wood, among others: She was "manipulated" to publicly accuse Manson.
"I bowed to pressure from Evan Rachel Wood and her associates to level allegations of rape and assault against [Manson] that are untrue," Smithline wrote, according to People.
"harassment and threats"
Smithline alleges that Wood and other women who have accused Manson of sexual assault convinced her that Manson had abused her in a similar way.
A representative for Wood denied the allegations.
“Evan never pressured or manipulated Ashley.
It was Ashley who first spoke to Evan about the abuse she had suffered," a statement quoted by People said.
"It is unfortunate that the harassment and threats Ashley received after filing her federal lawsuit appeared to pressure her to change her testimony."
Psychological abuse, deprivation of liberty, rape
Smithline filed a sex abuse lawsuit against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, in June 2021.
This was rejected in early January – according to media reports, because the model missed a deadline.
Smithline has now said her allegations were "false" and that she only had a "brief, consensual sexual relationship" with Manson in 2010.
In early 2021, actress Evan Rachel Wood made public allegations for the first time.
Other women followed.
All report similar acts.
They range from psychological abuse and deprivation of liberty to rape and torture.
Manson denies all allegations against him.
His lawyers are portraying the women's reports as a smear campaign against him.
