Dillbeck was convicted of
stabbing to death a 44-year-old woman
, Faye Lamb Vann, in the parking lot of a Tallahassee mall in 1990 after he attempted to steal her car.
At the time of the events, the 27-year-old was on the run, having escaped from prison where he was serving a life sentence for the murder of a policeman.
