Two hikers from the province of Bergamo aged 36 and 39 died today after falling on the Northern Grigna, one of the main peaks in the province of Lecco.
The accident took place in the west gully area, the same one where another hiker lost his life a week ago, most likely due to the presence of ice at high altitudes.
The alarm was sounded again today and Alpine Rescue, a helicopter and the carabinieri were mobilised, but there was nothing they could do for the two hikers.
The recovery operations of the bodies were thus initiated.
