Israelis and Palestinians have pledged "to reduce the escalation on the ground and to prevent further violence".
This is what emerged from the summit in Aqaba (Jordan) where the two parties met together with Egyptians and Jordanians under pressure from the USA.
All parties - Petra announced - underlined "the importance of preserving the historical status quo of the Holy Places in Jerusalem".
Israel and the Palestinians have declared their willingness "to take immediate action to stop unilateral measures for a period of three to six months and by Israel to halt any new settlements for six months".
The five parties - continued Petra - have also "agreed to meet again in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt next March to achieve the objectives" indicated.
Participants also agreed to "support initiatives aimed at strengthening mutual trust between the two sides with a view to addressing outstanding issues through direct dialogue".
The USA, Egypt and Jordan - stressed Petra - "consider these agreements positive progress towards the reactivation and deepening of relations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides and are committed to facilitating their implementation, if necessary".
