Lady Gaga is being sued by one of the five people arrested in connection with the kidnapping of her two dogs and the shooting of her dog walker

The woman who returned Lady Gaga's dogs after they were stolen in 2021 is suing the singer — for not paying her the $500,000 reward she claims she promised.

In February 2021, Gaga's two French bulldogs, Koji and Gustave, were stolen during a robbery, in which Gaga's assistant who took them for a walk was also shot and seriously injured.

In April 2021, five people were arrested in connection with the robbery, including Jennifer McBride, who eventually returned the dogs.

After McBride returned Koji and Gustav, the Los Angeles Police Department discovered that she had a relationship with the father of one of the men arrested for the robbery and kidnapping of the dogs.

McBride was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting attempted murder and in December 2022 she pleaded guilty but not guilty to one count of receiving stolen property.

She was sentenced to two years of probation, according to the LA Times.

James Howard Jackson, whom the police identified as the main culprit in the robbery, the attempted murder and the abduction of the dogs - was sentenced to 21 years in prison.

During the year 2021 it was reported that Lady Gaga offered a reward of half a million dollars to be given to whoever returns the dogs "without asking questions".

In the new lawsuit, published this weekend on BuzzFeed News, McBride claims she did not receive the award.

The lawsuit states that Gaga "defrauded" McBride "by making a promise with no intention of performing."

The lawsuit alleges that McBride suffered damages, pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life as a result of not receiving the $500,000.

McBride's attorney argued that in Gaga's statement that "no questions asked" with the offer of compensation and subsequent failure to pay, Gaga committed breach of contract, fraud by false promise and fraud by misrepresentation.

According to the lawsuit, McBride believes that Gaga's "no questions asked" offer was made "with the intent to deceive and induce the public, such as the plaintiff, to trust her and act on said promise by locating and returning Lady Gaga's bulldogs to her."

According to TMZ, McBride now wants more than the promised $500,000.

She is seeking damages in the amount of 1.5 million dollars from Gaga for the allegedly misleading publication of the award.

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Michelle Hennessy told TMZ that McBride was not only aware that the dogs she returned and claimed the reward from were stolen — but also knew the men involved in the crime for years.

Hennessey says she believes McBride and her partner in crime thought they could implicate her without identifying herself because she was a white woman and they were black.

She also points out that McBride is still serving her suspended sentence, and if Gaga has suffered any financial loss as a result of the robbery, the prosecution can seek monetary damages from McBride. Gaga's representatives have not responded to publications on the matter and have not yet released the statement of defense.

And voila!
