Most recently, after a curious error, Netto had to arrange a callback.
Now (February 21) the brand discounter is recalling the next product for the same reason.
The following food is affected by the sales stop this time: "Dutch matjes with onions" in the 130 gram pack of the Ouwehand brand.
It cannot be ruled out that this article was marked with the wrong use-by date of 28.08.2023, says the manufacturer Ouwehand Visverwerking BV "The guaranteed use-by date of the above-mentioned article is 28.02.2023 - the specific properties are guaranteed up to this date .”
Recall at Netto: Manufacturer warns of wrong best-before date
After February 28, 2023, the manufacturer recommends refraining from eating Dutch matjes with onions.
The product was offered by the Netto Marken-Discount in branches in parts of:
Bremen
Hamburg
Hesse
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
Lower Saxony
North Rhine-Westphalia
Rhineland-Palatinate
Schleswig-Holstein

Both the manufacturer and Netto "reacted immediately and immediately took the goods out of sale," says the message about the discounter's recall.
Furthermore, other consumption data and other items from Ouwehand Visverwerking BV are not affected by this information.
In addition to the Dutch herring with onions, the net supplier Dawtona also has to issue a warning.
This time the recall is about applesauce.
According to the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety, it was sold in discounter branches in Berlin, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Schleswig-Holstein.

Recall at Netto: Applesauce can contain glass splinters – serious injuries are possible
"It cannot be ruled out that there are glass splinters in the product," says the manufacturer's warning.
Glass splinters in food can cause severe injuries in the mouth, throat and digestive tract.
Consumption is therefore strongly discouraged.
The discounter Netto announced on its website that the affected products could be reimbursed without presenting a receipt.
