(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 28 - The Senate Elections and Immunity Board has denied the request for authorization to proceed against Matteo Salvini for the opinions expressed on Carola Rackete, at the time the commander of the Sea Watch3, the ship of the German NGO engaged in the rescue of migrants.
The speaker's request (against the authorization) received 10 votes in favour, 3 against (2 from the Pd and one from the M5s) and two abstentions (Ivan Scalfarotto from Italia viva and Ilaria Cucchi from Avs).
The request will go to the Chamber for the final decision.
