The number of homeless people sleeping on the streets in England rose by a record 26% last year
due to the
UK's high-living crisis.
According to data from the British government published today, 3,069 'homeless' were counted, more than three-quarters more than in 2010 when a census of homeless people was first conducted.
It is a "shocking" figure for Rick Henderson, head of the Homeless Link charity, who urged the conservative executive to introduce new funds with the March budget package.
In addition to the consequences of the high cost of living on individuals, many reception centers are also in financial difficulty and many have already been forced to close.
Henderson then criticized the lack of affordable housing and a public welfare system.
Labor Mayor of London Sadiq Khan also urged the government to "urgently increase support" for the homeless forced to sleep in places such as tents and makeshift shelters.
