(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 01 - Chinese manufacturing activity in February marked the fastest expansion since April 2012, following the restart of production thanks to the lifting of last December's draconian anti-Covid restrictions: the index of manufacturing purchasing managers (Pmi) jumped to 52.6 from 50.1 in January, according to data released by the National Statistics Office, positioning itself above the estimates at 50.5.
The Chinese economy ended 2022 as one of its worst years in almost half a century due to the strict application of the 'zero tolerance' policy to Covid which has cut production and consumption.
