Up until the fifth season, Outlander fans were used to timely German premieres.
Then everything changed.
Now there is finally a date for the start of the fifth season and a new station on top of that.
According to Outlander protagonist Claire (Caitriona Balfe), "the tide has turned." She and her husband Jamie (Sam Heughan) will not only have to deal with the outside threat posed by the Redcoats, but also deal with local problems.
The season is based on Diana Gabaldon's sixth book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes.
Season 6 continues Claire and Jamie's struggle to protect their loved ones as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America.
Finding a home in the New World is no easy feat, especially in rugged North Carolina upstate and—perhaps most importantly—at a time of dramatic political upheaval.
The Frasers strive for peace and thrive in a society that Claire knows all too well is unknowingly marching toward revolution.
With this backdrop heralding the birth of the new American nation, Claire and Jamie built a home together on Fraser's Ridge.
