It can happen that mail gets lost.
But apparently not in this case in Hamburg.
A postman there responded promptly to the accusation.
Hamburg – Deutsche Post does not enjoy a particularly good reputation.
In 2022, according to
ZDF
, the anger about the post office even reached a new high - according to this, the Bonn supervisory authority received three times as many complaints about the German letter and parcel industry as in 2021. The reason for the complaints was mostly late or lost shipments.
But in one case in Hamburg, the fault for the missing letters does not seem to lie with the postman.

"Dear postman, we haven't received any letters for a week." With these words, a notice in Hamburg starts, which was posted
on the Instagram channel

In it, a family describes in a friendly manner where their own mailbox can be located and asks the responsible postman: "Would you please post new letters there for us?"

Underneath the message to the postman, however, another person responded directly to the request on the same piece of paper: "You had no mail those days!" It is written there - it can be assumed that the message came from the postman himself.
Apparently he didn't just overlook the mailbox, there was just no mail to deliver.
Different in London.
There, a curious “find” took off: a letter only reached its address more than 100 years later.

– The postman'”, one user comments with amusement and thus gets to the heart of the message from the alleged postman.
Another Instagram user sees it positively and writes: "No post means no bills either." Many users seem to take the point of view.
Comments like "There's nothing better than no mail, what about people?
As if you ever got anything good in the mail” and “No news is good news” line up next to each other.
But other users also give another thought: "'Do you also read the news?
We're on strike!"', writes a user, translating the message of the alleged postman into her own words.
Another person also found the explanation under the Instagram post: "The post office had gone on strike, so many letters did not arrive on time." A postwoman in Berlin left a call for help on a DHL note - the story is now warming thousands of hearts.
