(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, MARCH 02 - "I hope that Pope Francis trusts me, I hope I have not given a reason not to trust me anymore": says Msgr.
Georg Gaenswein, Ratzinger's historic secretary, in Bruno Vespa's program 'Five Minutes' which will be broadcast this evening on Rai Uno.
As for his future, Gaenswein said: "The Holy Father will tell me this in a few days."
Asked by Vespa if he is faithful to Bergoglio, Gaenswein replied: "Faithful and loyal: he is the Pope of the Catholic Church and the successor of Peter, as I have been faithful to all his predecessors".
His book "Nothing but the truth" did not have the objective of creating "wars" in the Church, says Msgr.
Gaenswein.
"My only goal was to clarify points where there were many problems. Clarity is telling and giving the truth for all those who wanted to know. No wars, no factions, I just wanted to give my testimony about the real things that happened" .
As for the timing of the book's publication, which took place during the days of Benedict XVI's farewell, Gaenswein commented: "Any moment of publication would have been criticized by any person".
The rest, like rumors of schism, are "journalists' invention".
