Polish architect Daniel Libeskind will preside over the jury of the international design competition for the Science Museum in Rome.
Libeskind is one of the greatest exponents of contemporary architecture and has signed among the many works the Jewish Museum of Berlin.
The tender for the Science Museum, which will be housed in the former barracks in via Guido Reni, ended on 23 January.
Now the jury will have to choose the winning project.
"The fact that a giant of world architecture like Daniel Libeskind has agreed to preside over the jury called to decide the best work in the international design competition of the 'Science Museum of Rome' is news that fills us with great satisfaction ", says the mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri in a note.
"When I met Libeskind in the Campidoglio in recent weeks - he adds - I did not expect to receive such an immediate and enthusiastic response: I want to thank him sincerely for his availability as well as I thank the other illustrious members of the jury. Their names, together with those of the Scientific committee chaired by the Nobel Prize Giorgio Parisi, represent the best guarantee of the absolute technical quality with which this project awaited by the city for too long is continuing its process".
