(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 02 - Polish architect Daniel Libeskind will preside over the jury of the international design competition for the Science Museum in Rome.
Libeskind is one of the leading exponents of contemporary architecture and has designed the Jewish Museum in Berlin among many other works.
The tender for the Science Museum, which will be housed in the former medical barracks via Guido Reni, closed on 23 January.
Now the jury will have to choose the winning project.
"The fact that a giant of world architecture such as Daniel Libeskind has agreed to preside over the jury called to decide the best work in the international design competition for the 'Science Museum in Rome' is news that fills us with great satisfaction",
"When I met Libeskind in the Campidoglio in the past few weeks - he adds - I did not expect to receive such an immediate and enthusiastic response: I want to thank him sincerely for his availability as well as the other illustrious members of the jury. Their names, together with those of the Scientific Committee chaired by the award Nobel Giorgio Parisi, represent the best guarantee of the absolute technical quality with which this project awaited by the city for too long is continuing its process".
