The Council of Higher Education decided to continue exams in universities, including the preparatory year for medical colleges, and to follow up the course of the examination process in the governorates that were exposed to the earthquake in order to monitor data and results in order to take appropriate decisions in line with the interest of students and ensure that their academic achievement is not affected.
The Council also approved, during its meeting today, to open the door for direct registration in public universities for students holding a high school diploma who have met the required admission requirements, including exams for specializations that require success in specific exams, and did not apply for comparison or direct registration on the specified dates.
The council also decided to grant an additional period of six months to master's students who completed the year of courses for the academic year 2020-2021 and were unable to complete the registration procedures for their research.
The council also approved a proposal regarding the mechanism for calculating the differential average for students from private university graduates wishing to apply for a postgraduate admission in public universities, as it is calculated according to 50 percent of the graduation rate and 50 percent of the national exam mark, as of the next comparison.
