A dog was traveling alone on a train from Salzgitter to Braunschweig.
The federal police were informed, the officials received the black Labrador in Braunschweig, the police announced on Thursday.
The emergency services provided the dog with food and water and informed the 53-year-old dog owner.
He immediately made his way to the federal police station.
The man reported that his dog suddenly got on the train at Salzgitter-Bad station, the doors closed immediately afterwards and the train left for Braunschweig.
