From today in Spain it is possible to submit a request to the registry office to change one's gender without having to undergo hormonal processes or medical, psychological or judicial authorizations from the age of 16, and with a simple parental permit between the ages of 14 and 16: in fact, the so-called "trans law", definitively approved by Parliament in February, has come into force.
The law provides that the person concerned must declare "expressly" and in writing the will to change their gender on two occasions three months apart.
In all, the corresponding bureaucratic procedure must be resolved within a maximum of four months from the initial request, explains La Vanguardia.
